MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 10, 2008
HOLDEN SENIOR CENTER
Members Present: Al Berg, Paul Challenger, Jim Dunn, Maria Dell'Ovo, Rick Bates left at 7:40, Glenn Gaudette @ 7:10, Bob Ripley, Marilynn Foley
Members Absent: Peter Lacy
The meeting was called to order at 7:05.
The Committee discussed the updated Water/Sewer report from the Town Manager with a breakdown of the rates.
Al will attend the Regional FinCom meeting on September 18 in Rutland. It is important to stay in touch with other regional towns in discussing the WRSD budget. Paul and Glenn will also attend.
Al passed out a F/Y 10 Budget Hearing "Model" plan for discussing department budgets after the Manager present the Resource Profile. Maria will schedule the meetings. The committee will plan a meeting the week of Annual Town Meeting to check on any changes to the Resource profile. Committee members selected departments for budget review:
General Government: Maria, Marilynn
Public Safety: Rick, Bob
Public Works: Jim, Glenn
Water/Sewer: Al, Jim
Human Services/Culture: Peter, Marilynn
Education: Paul, Glenn
Revolving Funds: Paul, Bob
Bob reported on his August meeting with the Town Manager.
The Committee discussed if it would be a good idea for the Chair to have quarterly meetings with the Town Manager.
If anyone is planning to attend the Association of Town Finance Committees meeting on November 1, 2008, please submit by October 24.
A motion by Maria, 2nd by Jim to approve the minutes of August 20 was voted unanimously as amended.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55.
